What Materials Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements. Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels.
Qualifications - 1-2 years of experience, preferred
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Responsibilities - Follow established process to fulfill orders. This includes accurately picking products, performing quality control checks, packing products, inputting product information into computer, and preparing orders for shipment
- Cross-training in multiple areas of the warehouse and participating in projects as needed. Example areas could be order picking, outbound dock, renal fluid packing, IV fluid packing, and automated storage and retrieval system
- Perform housekeeping and inventory, control tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment, example of required personal protective equipment includes, but is not limited to, steel-toed safety shoes and a material handling harness
- Willingness to train and be certified to drive material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes order picker (cherry picker), pacer/counterbalance, reach truck, pallet jack, and walkie ride

- Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor
- Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
